Placing an order is easy and straight forward. Browse our Catalogue, click on the items you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on “Checkout Now” and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from outside the United Kingdom, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.

All prices are subject to manufacturers’ variations.

We reserve the right to edit or remove items from sale or cancel orders at our discretion. Should we cancel an order under any circumstances it will be without charge to you.

All dimensions, weights and performance tables shown on our website are supplied by the manufacturers and may be subject to their variation. Customers should satisfy themselves that these details are correct and that products are suitable for purpose before placing their order. e&oe
Shipping And Handling
Shipping and Handling costs where appropriate are clearly displayed on the order form. A supplement is generally payable on items sent outside of the United Kingdom, where goods subsequently have to be re-directed to an address not on your original order, or where the carrier has to make a third or more attempt to make a delivery.
Supplements apply for Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands & Islands and Isle of Man. For further information or for a quotation on a specific order or quantity requirement email us at info@thebuiltenvironment.co.uk or call +44(0)1304-809880. (Overseas customers should always request a shipping quotation)
* NOTE: Our delivery charges cover delivery to the ground floor of your premises only.
For Health and Safety reasons and to minimise any risk of accidental damage to heavy or large items you may be asked to provide some form of assistance at the point of delivery. For heavy items a ‘two man lift’ is generally required where an individual component or item exceeds 20kg. Whilst vehicle tail lifts are provided where possible this facility is not always available in all areas. If in doubt please contact our office for clarification.
Delivery Schedule
We endeavour to process all orders within 24 hours of receipt. In the unlikely event of any undue delay you will be informed by email. Please allow 2-3 days for delivery.
It is the responsibility of the customer to make adequate and appropriate arrangements to accept deliveries and we will not accept liability where customers fail to make such arrangements.
Should you not be in when our courier calls then you will be left a card giving the local depot address. Two deliveries will be attempted and then the goods will be held in the depot for seven days before being returned to us. To save the additional cost of having to re-send your requirements you are advised to contact the depot concerned to make suitable delivery arrangements. Goods returned to stock because of non delivery may attract a re-stocking charge of up to 25%.

Customers are cautioned against booking tradesmen etc until they are in receipt of their order and have checked that all items are correct and undamaged.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure that goods are delivered on the day specified we can accept no liability where couriers or other third parties fail to do so.
Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges
For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free and you should click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero . If you have a VAT Exemption Certificate or European VAT Registration Number you must provide suitable evidence prior to despatch.
Credit Card Security
We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Despatch to addresses other than the cardholder’s address may be subject to a short delay whilst the order and card details are verified.
This additional measure is intended to help protect customers against credit card fraud and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience consequently caused.
All deliveries should be checked immediately and any discrepancies or damage reported within 24 hours of receipt. It is the policy of the Company to offer a no quibble free replacement guarantee on all goods faulty by means of defective materials or manufacture supplied within the UK. However, this guarantee may not apply in circumstances where faults or failures are due to incorrect installation, misuse or neglect on the part of the customer or installer. Your statutory rights apply above and beyond the terms of any warranty expressed here. All goods are supplied on the express understanding that where installation requires the exposure of live electrical parts, then this work be undertaken by an electrically competent person.
Note: Individual manufacturer’s warranties may not apply to items supplied or installed outside the United Kingdom.
